ABOUT US

Who Are We?

Dun Laoghaire Evangelical Church has existed in the Dun Laoghaire area since the late 19th Century. We built our first church in Northumberland Avenue (Northumberland Hall) in 1911 and moved to our current location in 1989. We are an independent Evangelical Christian Church who seek to live out our faith in the south Dublin area.

We believe that Jesus calls us to pursue a radical lifestyle of love and service to each other and the world around us. You are welcome to visit us any Sunday morning for our service of worship, bible teaching, and fellowship.

What We Believe

Staff Team

  • Dougie McCormack

    PASTOR

Dougie has been the pastor of DEC since 2013. When Dougie is not walking his dog Gus or writing sermons, he loves playing the piano and golf and watching Leinster play rugby.

  • Darren Mooney

    YOUTH AND KIDS’ DIRECTOR

Darren looks after the youth of the church and helps oversee the children’s ministry. He’s committed to his wife, his five kids, and the NYT Mini Crossword.

  • Rachel Dunne

Rachel is our church administrator and pretty much makes sure the church doesn’t fall apart. She is a huge part of our prayer ministry and owns the church mascot puppy Reggie.

  • Siobhan Anikwe

    CHILDRENS’ MINISTRY INTERN

Siobhan is the head of our childrens’ ministry. She loves to serve at childrens’ camps and is constantly thinking of fun new ways to engage the kids. She loves to bake and is currently studying to be a secondary school teacher.

  • Miriam Frim

    MULTIMEDIA & PRODUCTION MANAGER

Miriam runs our production and media department, from sound, to livestream, to social media, to worship. If you see a blurry flash on a Sunday morning, it’s her running around trying to make sure everything is going okay. She’s also committed to making sure she owns every album she loves on vinyl!
